What to Expect at Your First Dental Visit
First Visit to the Dentist Information
Your initial appointment usually will consist of an examination and review of your treatment options. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a discussion of the treatment needed.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
- Any x-rays taken by a previous dentist, within the last 12 months if applicable. If your x-rays are not available at the time of the consultation we will take our own.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are currently taking any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).
X-Rays and Photos
If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, that are current you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
We will also take the needed photos for your chart including a profile chart photo, and intraoral photos. This helps us better track what you have as a incoming patient and can help us with submitting claims in the future if treatment is needed.
We are currently accepting new patients and would love to help you take your smile to the next level, and especially if you are living in Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head or Charleston, please complete our Contact Form to request an appointment.
